Government has appointed Shyama Prosad Adhikari as Chief Engineer of Local
Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the Ministry of Local Government,
Rural Development & Cooperatives on Thursday, 11 December, 2014.
Mr. Shyama Prosad Adhikari
Shyama Prosad Adhikari was born in 1956 in an aristocratic family of Krishnadia
village at Muksudpur Upazila under Gopalganj district. His father’s name is late
Nagendranath Adhikari and mother’s name Shatadal Adhikari. Mr. Adhikari was
graduated in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology
(BUET) in 1981 and obtained Post Graduate degree in Environment Science and Graduate
degree in Law.
Mr. Shyama Prosad has begun his career in 1981 by joining Rural Works Programme
as Assistant Engineer. He worked from 1981-1990 in Rural Works Programme and LGEB
as Assistant Engineer and under LGED as Upazila Engineer in different Upazilas of
the country. He successfully worked as Executive Engineer in Chandpur and Mymensingh
districts. He also worked in Aquaculture Development Project priority based Projects
as Project Director from 2002 to 2010. He served as Superintending Engineer of Dhaka
Region since 2010 to 2012.
Prior to his joining as Chief Engineer, he was working as Additional Chief Engineer
in Urban Management, Integrated Water Resources Management, Maintenance and Training
units since 2012. He achieved many professional trainings from home and abroad.
He is known to all as a hard working, experienced diligent officer and passion towards
our Liberation War.
