Mr. Md. Wahidur Rahman was born on December 12, 1953 at village Joshpur, P.O. Meshtoli Bazar, Upazila Chouddagram, District Comilla. Mr. Md. Wahidur Rahman obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Chittagong Engineering College (Presently Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology - CUET) in 1977. He did his Masters of Science in Irrigation Engineering from the Southampton University, UK in 1987. Mr. Rahman joined LGED as an Executive Engineer in 1982. Later he became Project Director from 1993 to January 2002. He was promoted as Superintending Engineer in 2002 and became Additional Chief Engineer on 1 January 2008. Mr. Rahman was promoted to the post of chief engineer, LGED on December 28, 2008. Mr. Rahman received ADB's Performance Recognition Award as a Project Director of TRIDP in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He also received ADB's Annual Award for outstanding performance in project implementation as Project Coordinator of Emergency Flood Damaged Rehabilitation Project Part A: Rural Infrastructure in 2005.

Mr. Md. Wahidur Rahman traveled to Australia, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Tanzania, Pakistan, Italy, USA, Nepal, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Greece, UK., Sweden, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Saudi Arab, Brazil, Malaysia and Indonesia to attend seminars, conferences, training and loan negotiation meetings on official assignments.

Mr. Md. Wahidur Rahman is actively associated with many professional organizations. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh and was elected council member of the Central Committee of IEB in 2008. He is also a member of External Forum on Gender and Development, ADB, Manila and American Society of Civil Engineers, USA. and Bangladesh National Forum for Rural Transport. (BNFRT).

Mr. Md. Wahidur Rahman is also actively associated with many social organizations. He is the Vice Chairman: Central Command Council, Bangladesh Muktijoddah Sangsad. He is a Life Member of Chittagong Maa-o-Shishu Hospital. Mr. Rahman also founder of many other social organization like Bud Nursing School, Sonapur, Noakhali, Joshpur Jayeda Azam Sikkha Complex, Chouddagram, Comilla, Mushirhat Degree College and Munshirhat Collegiate School, Chouddagram, Comilla, Sufia Khatun Mohila Madrasha, Chouddagram, Comilla, Joushpur Abdur Rahman Hafizia Atimkhana. He is also the president of Abdur Rahman Bhitti (Scholarship) Foundation.
