LGED achieved the first prize in the “Earth Day + 530 Campaign” exhibition on June 19, 2011

An exhibition titled “Earth Day + 530 Campaign” was arrangedon June 19, 2011 highlighting the significance of Earth Day 2011 at North SouthUniversity Campus, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The occasion was jointly organized byJICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), KOICA (Korea InternationalCooperation Agency) and Earth Club of North South University in Bangladesh.The theme of the event was “Towards a Clean and Green World”. The program wasinaugurated by honorable state minister for the Ministry of Environment &Forests, Dr. Hasan Mahmud along with their excellence presence of honorableAmbassador pf Japan Mr. Tamotsu Shinotsuka, honorable Ambassador of KoreaRepublic Mr. Taiyoung Cho, Prof. Hafiz G A Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor , theNorth South University, Dr. Takao Toda, Chief Representative of KOICA inBangladesh.


Asian Development Bank (ADB) Award

The Resident Mission in Bangladesh of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in its Dhaka Office conferred the ADB Award for the year 2007 to three projects for Best Performing of LGED. The Wining Projects are Urban Governance and Infrastructure Improvement Project, Second Small Scale Water Resources Development Sector Project and Primary Education Development Programme-2.

The Resident Mission in Bangladesh of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in its DhakaOffice conferred the ADB Award for the year 2008 to three projects for Best Performingof LGED. The Wining Projects are Urban Governance Infrastructure ImprovementProject (UGIIP), Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project:- 25: GreaterKushtia, Jessore, Khulna, Barisal & Patuakhali  Districts and North-West Crop DiversificationProject

The Resident Mission in Bangladesh of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in its Dhaka Office conferred the ADB Award for the year 2009 to one project for Best Performing of LGED on 29 January 2009. The Wining Project is Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project-25: Greater Kushtia, Jessore, Khulna, Barisal & Patuakhali  Districts.

Energy Globe World Award 2007

A total of 70 projects more than 90 countries ofthe world participated in the Austria-based Energy Globe World Award 2007.LGED’s Sustainable Rural Energy Project aimed at electrification of GrowthCentres through Solar Photovoltaic won 1st Prize in that competition

LGEDparticipated in the fair and made demonstration on environment friendlyrenewable energy technology and other development programmes. Among the 73stalls participated in the fair, LGED’s stall secured the first place

The Local Government Division awardedCertificates of Commendation to the concerned Project Directors/Officers-In-chargeof 33 out of 69 Projects under implementation during 2009-10 who could achieve100 percent of the targets set forth for the fiscal year
