• to develop rural transportation network through improvement of Upazilla roads and important Union roads including construction of bridges/culverts on them and thereby render assistance to the economic advancement of the land less and marginal farmers through increased agricultural and commercial activities in the project area.
• to improve marketing facilities of agriculture produces through improvement of the physical facilities of growth centers and important markets and to encourage farmers for increasing agricultural production by ensuring fair price of their products.
• to generate short-term and long-term employment opportunities for the rural poor through construction and maintenance of rural infrastructures.
• to help and maintain ecological balance thorough tree plantation along the sides of Upazilla roads and important Union roads.
• to rehabilitate Flood (2004) damaged infrastructure for reactivation of rural socio-economic activities.
• to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure in SIDR affected area for reactivation of rural socio-economic activities through improvement of communication network.
