Major Function of RIMMU:

Initiatives taken by RIMMU:
  • Establishment of the framework for road maintenance by setting up Road & Structure Database Management System (RSDMS) and a need based policy for rural road asset maintenance management system.
  • Introducing a system of regular updating of road data and road map through various surveys that enables to determine condition of road network.
  • Categorization of road maintenance activities on the basis of practical need.
  • Introducing guideline for road and bridge/culvert maintenance for LGED.
  • Introducing methods for systematic assessment of maintenance need through modern techniques, based on roughness, deflection, traffic and surface condition.
  • Conducting regular training program for LGED staff and maintenance workers at districts and upazilas.
